Hey guys!! I’m finally back from internet hibernation! I’ve been moving from Vancouver to San Francisco—many apologies to those of you who have been waiting for another video to come out. :} It took a long time to get phone and internet at my new house… blargh…
So I was supposed to upload this video before I moved, but I packed my external hard drive too early and discovered too late that after I had backed up all my video files on the external hard drive, I had deleted this one from my laptop!!
Here it is now. :) Just a few silly bloopers, behind-the-scenes, and special deleted scene from the actual interview, where you’ll find out how Dr. Bob got the name “Dr. Bob”! It was pretty special to realize that I was probably the first student in about 20 years to find out where “Dr. Bob” came from. And now I’m sharing it with you! :D
I have another interview with Professor Jesse Read coming up (I shared a few screenshots with you guys last month) and a silly vlog with me visiting Stanley Park in Vancouver for the first time. I realize a lot of viewers would rather have me do how-to flute videos instead, but these videos are part of my Farewell-Vancouver series. Vancouver started my music career and YouTube adventure, and the best way this broke musician can pay tribute to this beautiful city and its sweet people is to capture them forever on her little camera.
Call me selfish for putting up videos that only I really care about. But this is my way of taking Vancouver back with me to San Francisco. Moving is always hard because you’re not just leaving a place. You are leaving people, human beings who have developed bonds with you, taught you how to cue other musicians, listened to you complain about technique exams, raced against time with you to rehearse enough for a competition, and can tell when you’re PMS-ing. I’m leaving people who love me. I’m leaving people I love.
So that’s me. And that’s what these videos are for. No worries, there are how-to flute videos on the horizon, and they will come. For now, I’m just being a little California brat who’s missing her friends in Vancouver and making sure YouTube knows about it.
Don’t mind me.
